How to Kick-Start Your Shorter Workday

I'm a huge believer in visioning. We've all heard of that book The Secret right? I confess, I've never read it but I have had several conversations with people who have. They all believe that they are able to manifest what they want. Do I believe that they are? Not necessarily. Although I do believe that you have the power to get the things you want and need by putting out positive energy. If there are things you want in your life, just thinking about them isn't going to get you there. The best thing you can do is get yourself an outlet, whether digital or on paper, that allows you to do just that. Write these thoughts out. Give yourself some space to work through what you really want. Getting clear means gaining clarity.

If you are tired of working 10 hour days or just hate the work that you do, there is something you can do about it. Take that thought and pull it inside out, what lies on the inside? Have you always longed to do something different? Have you always had an idea of what you wanted to do but gave in to social pressures of what you should be doing instead? These are things that are within your control. I know it's hard to see that sometimes but believe me I've been through it.

I want you to grab a piece of paper or use your preferred digital method and write something down for me. Take a few minutes to write a note to yourself from the future. Write down exactly how you would want your life to be like but talk to yourself as if it has already happened.

For example: HI Dani, I cannot believe the year we've had. I traveled to Italy and took a real authentic Italian cooking course. I also was able to cut back hours at work so that I could go hiking more. The best part is my income has tripled all because I wrote a book.

See not too hard, just write it down and learn something about yourself. Take the things you daydream about or your passions and write them down. You would be surprised at how things differ when they go from thinking to actually being written down. Most of all be very detailed and clear. What does this have to do with shortening your workday? It' s the first step to finding out who and what you want to be.

I'd love to hear about what clarity you found by doing this. Please share below in the comments and I'll be sure and answer back.
